Christmas at school

Last week Andrew had his Christmas program at school and a Christmas party.

Tuesday was the program. He didn't have school that morning, just the program. Andrew really dislikes singing on stage. He loves to sing, but is terrified of singing in front of people. The kids sang several songs and Andrew just stood there the whole time looking terrified. Poor thing!

On Thursday he had his school Christmas party. They decorated Christmas cookies, read a Christmas story and had a book gift exchange. Andrew had tons of fun!

Family time

Last Saturday we spent the day at my in-laws house. All the women on that side of the family went to a tea and then we all got together after for a family get together. Andrew had tons of fun playing with his cousin Elizabeth and Ava loved playing with all of the kids too.

Chippy the Elf

We have been having fun with Chippy lately.

The other night, he wrote a letter to Andrew and made a candy cane slide. Andrew thought it was pretty cool!

A few nights we've forgotten to move him, but Andrew didn't seem to mind. Trying to find a new place to put him each day is a bit of a challenge!

Naughty or Nice

We went to see Santa last Friday. Andrew was beyond excited. He brought his list with him to give to Santa and on the way there he kept reciting his list. I think he was trying to memorize it. We walked in to Santa's house and Andrew went right up to him and gave him his list. Ava was more hesitant, which surprised me because she is so social. I wanted to get a picture of them with Santa so we put Ava on Santa's lap and she cried like crazy. Huge tear drops and we had a hard time calming her down. Santa started singing and that seemed to do the trick!

Cousins

My kids love their new baby cousin Leyton. It's their only cousin. Kayla & Leyton were in town last week and we got to spend a little bit of time with them. My mom bought the girls matching outfits and we just had to take pictures. I think this is the first time Ava has held a baby and she really loved it. She kept giving Leyton kisses.

Advent week 2

Last week we did some fun things for Advent:

We made cookies to give our neighbors. After one batch, Andrew was done, but it was still tons of fun.

We went to get a Christmas tree...

and we decorated it.

Andrew had to put the star on top of the tree.

We watched a Veggie Tales Christmas movie while eating popcorn & drinking hot cocoa. Andrew loved the movie.

And we went to see Santa...this is Andrew's face when we read him his advent for the day.

We made a craft for Andrew's teachers and picked out a stuffed animal to give to a sick kid at the hospital.

It's been a fun week celebrating the Christmas season!
