Valentines Day

Valentines day this year was lots of fun. Nathan and I celebrated it on Friday night at Jory. It was probably one of the best meals I have ever had!

On Valentines day I took Ava to Gymboree class and then headed to Andrew's school party. (Thanks mom & dad for taking over at Gymboree since I had to leave early.) When I got to Andrew's school all the kids were playing. It was fun to watch him with his buddies (as he calls them) without him noticing that I was watching him. His 3 friends at school (Landon, Cole & Brady) all played together really nicely. I know they play together often since they are the only people Andrew ever talks about at school. Anyway, as soon as he saw me he said, "thanks for the mandarin oranges for snack!" It was so cute. He loves mandarin oranges right now.

The party was lots of fun and the kids loved their cupcakes and their cute little craft. I think the highlight was opening up their valentines from all of their classmates. Andrew was so excited about each valentine he got.

After the party, we met Daddy for a Valentines lunch at Panera. (Thank you Daddy for rescheduling your work lunch so you could have lunch with us.) Andrew was really excited to show Daddy all of his Valentines.

While waiting for Daddy to come home from work, the kids cuddled up with Sophie.....

and we tried to do a little photo shoot.

I even tried to use the self timer to take some pictures of the kids & me. They didn't turn out great.

That evening we had a little picnic in the family room with a heart shaped pizza. The kids really enjoyed having a picnic.

And Daddy loved the gift we made him.

Ava really loved putting the bags over her head...she thought it was the funniest thing!


It was a fun Valentines with the family.

My mischeivious little girl

Ava has really been keeping me on my toes lately. She is into everything and anything at all times. Our house is completely destroyed in two seconds with toys all over the place. She rips apart all of her books, puts everything in her mouth, plays in the toilet if the lid gets left up, gets into the garbage and so many other things. I think last week, though, was the very worst. She got into my purse, took out my lipstick and rubbed it all into the carpet all in the time that I was talking to Andrew for a few minutes. The next night Nate and I were both home and I had just gotten back from a run so I told Nate that I was going to take a quick shower. Ava followed me up and cried as soon as I closed the bathroom door. I told Nate but he thought she'd come downstairs as soon as I started my shower. I thought he was right since the crying stopped. I took a quick shower, came out and this is what I found.....

She was in our bedroom and found a candle on the side table. She dug her fingers into the candle (don't worry, it wasn't lit) and took the wax and rubbed it all over her hair. It took me 4 washes to finally get it out.

It's a good thing that face is so cute...cause she is a handful!!!

I love these kids especially the moments when they are getting along. I love hearing them laugh together. Andrew makes Ava laugh harder than anyone else and he also really loves kissing his sister.

Coo Coo for Cocoa Puffs!

Andrew is 4 and a half and has never wanted to try cereal until the other day. We were getting a few things at Target and he saw Cocoa Puffs and just had to have them. So when we got home, I poured him a bowl and he loved them.

Cousins

My sister and Leyton were in town last week so we got to spend a little time together. The kids absolutely adore Leyton and I think that she thinks they are pretty fun too! Andrew and Ava can't stop giving her kisses and loving on her and Leyton just smiles and giggles. It's so cute!

Palm Springs- Children's Museum

The Monday that we were in Palm Springs it rained, so we decided to take the kids to the Children's Museum. We had a great time! There were barely any kids there and it was small enough that it wasn't an all day event. Both kids really enjoyed it. Unfortunately my camera ran out of batteries right when we got there, so all of the pictures are with my iPhone.

The had a car that you could paint and Andrew loved it. He painted an "A" on it for Andrew.

Ava had fun in the little toddler area. She especially loved driving the car.

And Andrew loved making pizza for all of us. He made each of us our own pizza....it was really cute.
