My goat

Yesterday Andrew, Ava, Pama Twyla (or as Andrew says Twyla Pama) and I went to the zoo. It was a little cold and overcast but we had tons of fun! We spent time in the Northwest section of the zoo, an area that we rarely go to. It's like a little farm and Andrew LOVED it. He spent tons of time with the goats.

Andrew with his goat. He followed this goat around the whole time with his hand on the goats back. When Pama asked if he wanted to pet another goat, he told her no and that she needed to pet it. He said, "this is my goat."

Play Dates, Bike Rides, Parks, & Sprinklers

We are having such a fun summer and enjoying the beautiful weather. Andrew loves playing outside even when it's not sunny, but especially loves when it's sunny. He says, "the sun came out!" Last week we had lots of fun playing in the sprinkler, going to what Andrew calls the "big park" and taking bike rides around our neighborhood.

He got so dirty from the sand box at the park that he came home, stripped down and ran through the sprinkler. He LOVED it.

On Friday our friends came over for a play date. Hudson is one of Andrew's best friends and they have so much fun together. His mom, Christi, just had a baby girl a few weeks after Ava. So while the boys played in the pool, ran through the sprinkler and played with cars, Christi and I cuddled with our baby girls and chit chatted.

7.17.10- On Saturday we went to our town parade. Sherwood has a cute little downtown area that Nate and I call Starshollow (Gilmore Girl reference). We think it's so fun that our little town has so many fun small town activities throughout the year. It was our first time experiencing the Robin Hood Festival. The boys watched the parade and Andrew loved all of the cars and the fire trucks in the parade. After the parade we walked around but it was so crowded that we didn't stay long. For all of you that know my husband, you know that crowds are his nightmare! He just couldn't stand the crowds any longer, so we went home so Andrew could take a nap before heading out on the river for the night.

This week our evenings have been spent taking Andrew to the park by our house on his bike. He loves it and always finds friends at the park. He's so social! I love our evenings spent just the 4 of us walking to the park and enjoying our neighborhood.

7.9.10 My inlaws birthdays are only a few days apart so we celebrated both of their birthdays on Friday. Tiffany & Thomas hosted a BBQ at their house. Andrew had fun playing cars with Papa and of course Pama & Papa enjoyed their cuddle time with Ava :)

On Saturday Tiffany had her wedding shower. It was a beautiful day and Ava and I enjoyed some Mommy/Daughter time.

Summertime

Last week we had amazing weather with temperatures in the 90s and some days reached 100. We spent lots of time outside enjoying the sunshine.

7.6.10 After a bike ride around the neighborhood, Andrew decided to run through the sprinkler in the front yard with all of his clothes on. He thought it was so funny!

7.7.10 Wednesday we spent late afternoon on the boat. Andrew found a new toy- a fan/squirt bottle. We brought it for Ava because it was 100 degrees that day and we thought it would help cool her off but Andrew decided it was his toy! Ava did great on the boat and it was a fun afternoon in the sun.

Andrew also decided to cool off in the water for a bit. He didn't want to really swim, just be dipped in the water.

7.8.10 Friday we spent enjoying our backyard. Andrew played in his pool, watered Mommy's flowers, and ran around the yard. Ava enjoyed "talking" to her jungle friends in her bouncy seat. (Ava @ 8 weeks)

Last Tuesday night Ava slept through the night! I was beyond thrilled. We put her to bed around 11/11:15ish after I feed her around 10:30 and she slept till about 7ish. She woke up a few times to get her diaper changed and because she was gassy, but not to eat. She has been doing this every since. Some nights she wakes up more because she wants her diaper changed, but last night she slept from 11 til 7 without waking once! She will be 2 months tomorrow...can't believe how fast it's going!

4th of July

Ava's 1st 4th of July and we were all decked out in red, white & blue! We spent the morning at church, a quick nap for Andrew in the afternoon and then headed over to the Bailey's for a BBQ. Andrew had tons of fun playing with his new cars, riding his tractor, and meeting Charlie (Aunt Tiff & Thomas' new dog). No fireworks for us. Andrew wasn't interested in the sparklers when Aunt Tiffany showed them to him. Maybe in a few years he will change his mind.

Summer of Weddings

This year we have 3 weddings to attend and 1 that Andrew & I are in. It's a busy summer of weddings. Last night we attended our 1st of the three and Ava's 1st wedding ever. It was one of my sister's childhood friends (Tyler Gale) and my sister and Cory came up for the wedding which made it a fun night. We got all dressed up (Nate, Ava & myselft) and had dinner at Oswego Grill before heading to church for the wedding. Andrew stayed at home with Aunt Tiffany and soon to be Uncle Thomas. Ava did great at the wedding, no crying which is rare for her, but was a little more fussy at the reception. She looked adorable though :)
