It's a mess!

A few weeks ago Andrew was very determined to get the leaves cleaned up in the backyard so he (and daddy) could mow the backyard. He kept saying, "mommy, it's a mess. I gotta clean it up so I can mow the lawn when daddy get's home." He got his rake out and tried cleaning up the yard. He's such a little helper.

Of course I couldn't resist pictures of Ava in the mess of leaves!

I love this picture of him riding in his jeep with his sunglasses. He NEVER wears his sunglasses but that day it was very sunny out and he kept saying that the sun hurt his eyes when we were driving in the car. I told him that Mommy wears her sunglasses when she drives when it's sunny out. So I guess he decided he should too!

The Kids

A few weeks ago we had beautiful fall weather. Andrew was outside playing and I wanted to try and get a few pictures of the kids together outside. It is almost impossible to get a picture of them together. Here's my attempt.....

M.I.A.

Sorry it's been so long since I've blogged. There's a good reason....I am hosting my 1st ever Bebe Boutique party tomorrow night and I've been working like crazy to get everything ready for it. So all of my spare time has been spent sewing and creating hair accessories. I do have lots to share when I hopefully return to blogging this weekend: Ava's 6 months, Andrew's show & tell, cute fall pics, and other day to day happenings at our house....stay tuned :)

Birthday Celebrations

My dad's birthday is the day after Halloween. Since it was on a Monday this year, my sister & Cory came up that weekend and we celebrated with a birthday breakfast on Saturday. It was a jam packed day since we had Disney on Ice that afternoon. We still had a great time being with family and celebrating my Dad. Monday, his actual birthday, the 4 of us went to my parents for tacos, Dad's request. Andrew had fun helping Papa open his gifts, blow out the candles and eat cake. Love you Dad (aka David Papa)!

Tiffany's (my sis in law) birthday was the following day, Tuesday. No pictures but we had a fun time celebrating her at Ring Side-just the adults.

Breakfast with the fam! Andrew was giving pretend ice cream to everyone from his ice cream toy. He would say, "do you want b-nana, orange or strawberry?" It was so cute!

Disney on Ice

On Saturday we went to Disney on Ice with the family (the 4 of us plus both sets of grandparents). We were really excited to take Andrew and thought he would love it. We were wrong! Andrew was pretty much freaked out during the whole 1st half. They had a whole Halloween thing with all of the villians. I even thought it was scary for little kids. He kept telling us that he wanted to go home. I felt so bad for him. I finally took him out for a bit and asked him if he wanted to get a toy. We decided on a hot dog and fries instead (he later got a toy from Daddy). After the Halloween part was over, we went back in and he seemed to enjoy it a lot more. Ava really liked it and watched everything. I was really surprised when she fell asleep in my arms. It is not like her to fall asleep anywhere but her bed or in the car. I was relieved that she did since we were gone during her nap. Overall it was an okay time. Nate and I agreed that last years Disney on Ice was better.

Ava really liked it. I love those chubby cheeks :)

Trick or Treat

Halloween is definitely not my favorite holiday, but if you know me at all, I still have my traditions that I love - chili & cornbread and apple cider. We had both sets of grandparents over for the night, had chili for dinner with the addition of hot dogs since Nate doesn't really like chili but likes chili dogs. After dinner, Nate & I took the kids out trick or treating. We bought Andrew 2 costumes, a shark & a dinosaur. Nate was then given another costume from one of his clients, a Lightening McQueen outfit. Andrew didn't want to wear any of them. We told him that he couldn't go trick or treating and get candy unless he wore his costume. We only were able to get the pants on for the longest time. His neighbor friends came to the door with their costumes and then Andrew decided he was ready to wear his full costume & trick or treat. Nate and I took the kids around the neighborhood while the grandparents took care of the trick or treaters at our house. Andrew was a dinosaur & Ava was a ladybug. They were adorable. At first Andrew wanted me to go to the door with him, but awhile into it he started going to the door all by himself. He would say trick or treat, get his candy, say thank you and immediately ask me if he could go to the next house. "Mommy, can we go to the next house please?" It really was adorable. We came home and had pumpkin chocolate chip cookies and apple cider. Andrew went through all of his candy and decided on some pretzels, nerds, and probably some others that I'm unaware of. He ate a lot of candy that night!

The heard someone knock on the door and he was excited to give them candy!

Pumpkin Carving

I'm a little behind on my blog once again. Last week we did a little pumpkin carving. This is definitely not one of our favorite things to do but we thought Andrew would enjoy so we gave it a shot! Nate found a cool Mickey Mouse template and decided to do that for our one and only pumpkin that we carved. I cleaned out the pumpkin (Nate hates doing it, so I get to), Andrew hid under the table most of the time drinking his juice until he finally decided to color and Ava sat in her bumbo and watched us. Nate didn't finish his Mickey pumpkin until after the kids went to sleep, but Andrew really liked it when he saw it the next morning.

He did not want to help clean out the pumpkin. He thought it was gross so I have him a spoon. He still wasn't interested in helping.
