Pacific City

A few weekends ago we headed to the beach with our friends the Leonards.  Matt's parents have a beach house and they were nice enough to invite us along with them for the weekend.  We arrived Friday night just in time for a late dinner and bed.  The kids had a hard time sleeping because they were so excited.  The next morning we got up, headed to the local coffee shop and then walked to the beach.  We've never been to Pacific City before and it is such a cute little beach town!
The weather was beautiful and we enjoyed a fun morning with our friends!  We also met up with the Callaways who happened to be in town.  All of the kids had tons of fun playing together.
The boys climbed this huge sand dune!
After a little rest time, (can you tell these boys are exhausted?!) we headed back to the beach.
The big boys having fun in the water.

The next morning we headed to Nesquin beach about 15 minutes down the road.  It was all fogged in and we couldn't see the water, but we still had fun playing in the sand!
Andrew tried to fly his kite but there wasn't much wind.
He did a bit of exploring while Ava played in the sand.
This beach has little areas where the water comes and is really shallow.  The kids had fun playing in the streams.
Nate & Matt dug a big hole that the kids had fun jumping over.
After a fun morning we headed back to the house so the girls could nap and the boys could relax a bit.  They found these wine glasses and asked to drink their water from them.
It was pretty hilarious!
After naps we walked back to the beach for some more fun in the sand.
The sun finally came out and we were able to fly kites, build sand castles and play in the water.
Andrew was trying to help Ava...such a good big brother.
Carys wanted to fly a kite too.
She let go of the kite and it went flying...Andrew luckily dove for and caught it.
Little Miss showing some sassiness.
Happy again in front of her turtle sand castle.
These boys had the best time together all weekend.
Our friends the Leonard family.

On Sunday we walked to the coffee shop, took a few photos in town, packed up, had lunch at a cute bakery and headed back home.  The kids were asleep as soon as we got on the road.  Such a fun weekend with wonderful friends!
LOVE this girl!

Young Champions

As soon as Nate & Andrew got back from their camping trip, Andrew had Young Champions- a track camp put on by our church.  It was every night Monday thru Thursday from about 6ish-8:30.  It was a busy week!
Andrew did great and had tons of fun.
He was having a great week until Wednesday night when they practiced the relay for the track meet on Thursday.  For some reason he got a bit confused and got really upset.  So we left a bit early and he was very concerned about going on Thursday.  We encouraged him to go Thursday night and he did great.  He did all of the activities except the relay.
Ava was still a bit young to participate but she was quite the trooper and sat and watched her brother every night.
She got her first taste of cotton candy on the last night and loved it.
Andrew was very excited about his medal...another great week of track camp!
