Last day of school

Today was Andrew's last day of school.   They had a carnival at a local church and it was a blast.  It was a rough year for the school with it burning down and moving locations.  All through it the teachers were wonderful and the kids did great.  Andrew really loved his school and will miss all of his new friends and teachers.

We were lucky enough to have Daddy come with us to the carnival!
Andrew with his teacher, Mrs. McCullough
It was a doggy themed carnival with a little doggy bag to put all of their prizes in.  They even had "paw-ports" so they new which activity to go to.
The 3 amigos: Cole, Landon and Andrew.  Andrew's best buddies.  Andrew didn't even want to sit with us, he had to sit with his buddies.
 Cole, Berekett, Landon and Andrew.
The kids did a little performance for all the parents and Andrew wouldn't sit down until I took a picture of him on stage.
1st activity- find the dog bone with their name on it.  The daddy's had to help out with this one!
 Next activity: obstacle course.
3rd activity- make a dog hat and get your face painted like a dog!
He wasn't too sure about getting his face painted.  I think he was worried about the germs (he's become a germ-a-phobe lately) but then decided it was okay to go ahead and do it.
The boys having fun with all of the games.  They even had a few bounce houses that the kids loved!

Another trip to the zoo

This morning we went to the zoo with my parents, Kayla & Leyton and Kayla's friend Rachelle & her daughter Sophia.  It was a great day for the zoo, overcast but not too cold.  Lots of the animals were out which made it fun.  It was really crowded though because of all of the end of the year school field trips.  We still had a great time.  It was Leyton's first time at the zoo and I'm not sure if she enjoyed watching the animals or all of the kids more.  She was wide awake and taking it all in.

 Checking out the sun bears.

 Checking out the elephants.
I think Andrew loves the drums more than anything else at the zoo!
Ava got in on drumming too!

Family time

We've been able to spend a few evenings with my grandparents lately.  The kids have really been enjoying their time with their great grandparents.
A BBQ at Papa & Pama's house...the kids got some gifts.  Cars for Andrew and Violet, the singing puppy for Ava.  The kids love them.

Last night we went over to my parents for another BBQ with my grandparents.  This time Kayla and Leyton were there.  The kids were so excited.

Andrew had fun playing basketball and actually made 5 shots!
My grandpa got out and shot hoops with him...Andrew loved playing with him. Not many 85 year old men will get out and shoot hoops!

My sweet niece Leyton...can't believe she is already 6 months old!

Birthday Weekend

For Nate's birthday we decided to have a night away.  It was our first night away from Ava making it our first overnighter in over 2 years.  Our celebration started around 1pm on Saturday.  We did lots of shopping, had some coffee and met up with friends for our tour of the east side.  We never really ventured to the east side much so we thought it would be fun to go check out lots for fun places.  Luckily our friends, the Flowers, love good food as much as we do!

Waiting for our friends to pick us up...he doesn't like pictures as much as I do :)

Our 1st stop...Kir.  We asked the lady to take a picture of all of us and this is how it came out.  Lovely! I think Kir was my favorite place that we went to that night.  LOVED it!
 Second stop...isn't he so handsome?!
And dinner at the Woodsmen.  Really cool place with amazing coffee!!!  This is how they brought it to us.
We laughed a lot and had so much fun.
 Last stop...such a cool atmosphere.
Nate and I stayed at Hotel Deluxe and loved it.  It was so nice and I loved getting a full nights sleep without Andrew coming into our bed multiple times a night.  We ended our overnighter with breakfast at St. Honore- my favorite place!  It was such a fun birthday celebration and a great night away.

Daddy's Birthday

We had a fun time celebrating Daddy last Thursday (the 24th).  Ava and I took him to coffee in the morning while Andrew was at school and then we all had lunch together after school.  Nate went back to work while Andrew and I made a cake, wrapped Daddy's gifts and made him a special card.  That night we had dinner with my parents (Nate's are in Palm Springs) at BJ Willy's Woodfire Pizza & Pub. It's new and we haven't had a chance to try....it was so good!  After dinner we came home for cake & presents.

Andrew was so excited to show Daddy the card he made.  I love how this pictures shows the drawing that Andrew made of Daddy on the back.  Inside the card it listed all of the things that Andrew loved about Daddy.
Ava wanted to help Daddy open his presents.
He got a few new shirts....
and lots of gift cards to Golfsmith so he could get some new clubs.
I tried to get a picture of our little family but the kids only wanted to take pictures with their Papa & Pama.
Happy Birthday to the best husband and Daddy.  We love you so much!
