Palm Springs

This blog is overdue for some updates...so to back track a bit....

We were back in Palm Springs for some more fun in the sun. This time we were lucky enough to have my parents come too. The kids are loving having both of their grandparents here. The weather was amazing and we spent almost every day at the pool.

We took an early flight so the kids had to wake up pretty early. They did great on the flight but were pretty tired when we finally arrived in Palm Springs. Andrew even fell asleep for an hour or so by the pool and he never takes naps anymore!
Ava didn't get a chance to swim the first day (until after dinner), but she really wanted to.
She decided to put her feet in to cool off and got her jeans all wet.
After dinner the kids enjoyed some night swimming with Papa & Pama Bailey.

The next day we spent swimming and lounging poolside and then we went to "carnival" that night.

Ava saw Andrew jump in the pool and decided that she could too. She was very good about not jumping until someone was there to hold her hands.

Daddy working...where he spends most of his time...at least it's poolside!
Ava taking a little swimming break to read poolside.
Both of the kids LOVED having both of their grandparents there to play with.
Andrew playing with David Papa in the pool....
Doing a little jumping...

And then some more jumping with Daddy.

Andrew with Daddy & both of his Papa's.

Nate & I on one of our date nights!
It's almost impossible to get a picture of the two kids together these days. At least one of them is smiling in the picture.

Ava swimming with Janet Pama.
Twyla Pama brought out some bubbles and both kids had fun trying to blow bubbles.

This is how my son went to the bathroom if he was in the pool....it was too funny not to capture!
Buddy Papa had to go home early to work a bit and my parents left before we did too. So our last morning with my parents we spent downtown at Coffee Bean, walked around a bit and had lunch at Lulus.

We then left for Disneyland for a few days (I'll post on that separately) but when we came back we had warmer weather. (It was kind of cool while we were at Disneyland.)

The kids enjoying some lunch poolside....Ava decided that she likes hot dogs!

Our last dinner in Palm Springs before going home the next day.
Another wonderful trip with great memories!
2.22-3.3.2012 Ava 21 months, Andrew 4 1/2 years

21 months

On the 14th of this month Ava turned 21 months. (I am so behind on blogging!) It was Valentines day and Ava's Gymboree class day. So I took lots of pictures of Ava at Gymboree. She loves it and runs around the whole time. Her teacher even said that she is very impressed that she can already jump since most kids don't start jumping until after 2. Ava has been doing it for several months. Some other things Ava does:
*tears apart every book that has a flap tab inside or is not a hard book
*calls every princess "oweeo" which is what she calls Ariel, her favorite princess
*is still a picky eater and refuses milk, and doesn't like meat except pepperoni and beef jerky
*LOVES apple juice and calls it "apa da"- she will stand at the fridge and beg for it
*likes playing with all of her Little People toys
*is saying new words every day, but her favorite right now is no- she says it all the time
*likes to throw her food, plate, and drink on the floor when she is done eating
*can use her silverware and always wants to do it by herself
*"Head, Shoulders, Knees & Toes" always makes her laugh
*she loves to point to her neck and have you tell her what it is
*she also points to her nose and eyes and can say nose and eye
*every time you sing "Twinkle Twinkle" she says "mo" (more) and wants you to sing it again...I think it's her favorite song...she also will hum along with me sometimes
*can open doors that have a lever instead of a knob
*your hair is so long but bounces up to your shoulders because of all the curl
*if you don't have a clip in your hair you push your hair out of your eyes, it's really cute, but you usually always want a clip in your hair.

You are so much fun....we love you!

Valentines Day

Valentines day this year was lots of fun. Nathan and I celebrated it on Friday night at Jory. It was probably one of the best meals I have ever had!
On Valentines day I took Ava to Gymboree class and then headed to Andrew's school party. (Thanks mom & dad for taking over at Gymboree since I had to leave early.) When I got to Andrew's school all the kids were playing. It was fun to watch him with his buddies (as he calls them) without him noticing that I was watching him. His 3 friends at school (Landon, Cole & Brady) all played together really nicely. I know they play together often since they are the only people Andrew ever talks about at school. Anyway, as soon as he saw me he said, "thanks for the mandarin oranges for snack!" It was so cute. He loves mandarin oranges right now.
The party was lots of fun and the kids loved their cupcakes and their cute little craft. I think the highlight was opening up their valentines from all of their classmates. Andrew was so excited about each valentine he got.

After the party, we met Daddy for a Valentines lunch at Panera. (Thank you Daddy for rescheduling your work lunch so you could have lunch with us.) Andrew was really excited to show Daddy all of his Valentines.
While waiting for Daddy to come home from work, the kids cuddled up with Sophie.....

and we tried to do a little photo shoot.

I even tried to use the self timer to take some pictures of the kids & me. They didn't turn out great.
That evening we had a little picnic in the family room with a heart shaped pizza. The kids really enjoyed having a picnic.
The kids loved their gifts!

And Daddy loved the gift we made him.
Ava really loved putting the bags over her head...she thought it was the funniest thing!

It was a fun Valentines with the family.
