Andrew learned how to ride his bike with out training wheels!  So proud of him!
And Ava finally got the hang of peddling her trike.

August fun

A few of our fun activities in August.
We had a blast at the zoo with Papa, Pama & Leyton.  My cutie wanted to pose with all of the animal statues.
An amazing view of the lions!

We also went to the water park in Wilsonville.  The kids had so much fun running around.
And having water fights!  They had the best time playing together.

We also went to the Colwell's to go swimming and have a BBQ one night.  The kids even got asked to be the ring bearer and flower girl in Brittany and Ryan's wedding next year.  Ava was so excited, but Andrew was a little hesitant.

The kids had the best time swimming and going down the slide.  It was such a fun night even though it was a little cool out for swimming.

Probably one of the highlights of the summer was getting mail from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Strawberry Shortcake.  The kids were beyond thrilled!

We also spent a lot of our Saturdays in Old Town Sherwood getting donuts and walking the Farmers Market.

Planes!

Ava's first movie in the theater...Planes!
She was a little restless, but both of the kids really loved it.  Such a cute movie.

Chicago

In August Nate and I headed to Chicago for a few days for Nate's work.  He received a Rising Star Award and we went so he could accept his award.  I'm so proud of him!
We arrived on Saturday early evening, walked around downtown and headed to the Paris Club for dinner.  It was AMAZING and we had such a fun night.
The next day was our only free time together so we explored the city.  We walked from our hotel to Navy Pier.  It was such a beautiful walk along the water and amazing to see all of the runners and swimmers along the lake.
When we got to Navy Pier we signed up for an architectural boat tour.  I think this was one of the highlights of our trip.
The boat takes you on the river that goes into the city.  Our guide was amazing and gave us tons of history on all of the buildings.
After the tour we walked near the river and found the perfect place for lunch.
These were definitely my favorite buildings in the background.
After lunch we headed to Millennium Park and the giant "bean"...a large mirror shaped bean.

That evening we celebrated Nate and the awards banquet.  It was fun to meet some of his friends in the industry.
Accepting his award.
Nate with the other Rising Star Award winners.
After the banquet we headed to the John Hancock building for drinks and dessert and the best view of the city.
The next day Nate headed to meetings all day so I did some shopping around town.  That night we headed to RPM for dinner, it was so good!
Nate had work meetings all day the next day, but that night we got to go to the Cubs game with all of the people from his conference.  We sat on the roof seats.  Nate was a little bit disappointed that we weren't in the stadium, but we still had a fun night.
