Sick kids

It's been a rough few days at our house. Sleepless nights, sleep filled days, high fevers, lots of coughs, lots of cartoons and books, and urgent care. Ava started getting sick on Wednesday night. Andrew was fine on Thursday morning, went to school and later that afternoon he had a fever and a croupy cough. Both kids were really sick through the weekend. Yesterday afternoon Andrew had a rash around his eye and it was all watery and swollen. We decided to take him to urgent care and found out that he had pink eye and a 104 temperature. Poor guy. Ava hasn't had much of a fever (thankfully) but coughing a ton. The kids seem to be feeling a lot better today and I'm hoping we can do a little trick or treating tonight!

Classroom Harvest Party

Andrew had his classroom harvest party on Thursday. I am one of the room mom's so I helped plan the party. We had a little story, played some pumpkin bowling, had some donut holes & juice and did a little craft. It was a little crazy, being the room mom, I didn't get to hang out with Andrew as much as I would have liked. And, of all days, I forgot my camera. Thankfully one of the other mom's sent me a few but the others were taken oh my iPhone.

He loves pumpkin bowling.

Working on his craft. A card that says boo!

Harvest Party

Today we had Andrew's school harvest party. We dressed up both of the kids, Andrew as batman and Ava as a bumblebee. They were both so cute. Andrew wore his costume for most of the day, he loved it! The harvest party was crazy! Kids running everywhere, super crowded and lots of games. Let's just say that Andrew didn't love it, but Ava did. Totally there personalities. Andrew gets nervous around crowds and Ava is the life of the party...the louder, the better! Andrew played a few games and after about 20 minutes he was ready to go. It was still a fun time and the kids looked so adorable.

Games

That's what we've been doing a lot lately....playing games. Andrew's favorite is Candyland. We play it multiple times a day. He also loves Hungry Hippos and his newest game is Sorry. I love playing games with my little guy!

A school pumpkin patch

Andrew's school doesn't do field trips for the 3's class, so they set up a little pumpkin patch on their playground. The kids were pretty excited and each got to pick there own little pumpkin.

Andrew also showed me how he can now cross the monkey bars all by himself...such a proud mommy!

Fall

I love Oregon in the fall. Crisp days, beautiful leaves and even a bit of sunshine!
The boys were out doing a little yard work and Daddy found a frog. Andrew was pretty excited about it.
Enjoying a little scooter ride on a sunny day.
I love the trees in my backyard. They are gorgeous!

Pumpkin Patch-take 2

I attempted to take the kids to the pumpkin patch again today. Nate was able to meet us there for a bit which was helpful, but let's just say it wasn't the best morning. We got a late start because Andrew was naughty all morning long. Tons of time outs...ugh, I'm tired just thinking about it! We got to the pumpkin patch around 11 and didn't stay long. Ava was grumpy the whole time we were there. Miss independent had a mind of her own and wanted to run all over the place. Running on not flat ground caused her to fall every 2 seconds. She was frustrated, I was frustrated...it was a bad combination. I tried to get a few pics, but it didn't go well. Maybe we will get another nice day and get to go again, but who knows. If not, at least we got some pumpkins.

Andrew loved seeing the chicks.
Mom-please stop trying to take pictures of me!

Can't you just see her independent sassiness in this picture?!

10.17.2011-Andrwe 4, Ava 17 months

17 months

Ava turned 17 months while we were in Palm Springs. At 17 months she is very sassy! She doesn't sleep great at night anymore, but constantly moans. I think this is due to her teething. She still has a few teeth left to get in. She drools all the time and puts everything in her mouth. She LOVES animals and can say duck. When you ask her what a cow says, she says "moo" and when you ask her what a dog says, she tries to bark. She is very independent and doesn't like to be confined in a stroller or highchair and doesn't like being held either. She likes to be chased and loves to dance. As soon as she hears music she starts dancing. She will now come and ask you to read her a book....she brings the book over and sits on your lap. It's adorable. That's the most cuddling she will do. Her hair is getting so long and it is wild! It has a bit of a curl and it's so hard to style. She has started throwing temper tantrums and is quite dramatic. She is really starting to love all things girly. She loves make up, combs & brushes. She also loves dolls and princesses. She is such a sassy little thing, but we are so in love with her!

Palm Springs-out & about

Andrew and Ava feeding the wild geese in the backyard with Papa & Pama while Mommy & Daddy went on a little coffee date.

Taking a spin in Papa golf cart.
The view from their backyard....so pretty!

Downtown Palm Springs for the farmer's market.

love my babies!

Andrew in front of the bat cave. See where the mountains form a v shape? That's the bat cave. Awhile back Papa told Andrew that Batman lived in Palm Springs. He was referring to Adam West (the original batman) who is retired there. So Andrew wanted to go see him and see the bat cave. Papa showed him where the bat cave was and Andrew thought that was pretty cool!
