A school birthday

On Tuesday Andrew celebrated his birthday at school. It was a very cute little party. I brought snacks, donut holes and apple juice, and his teacher gave him a birthday crown to wear and a new book. Andrew was so excited that I came to his new school. I got there right before snack time and they were playing duck duck goose since it was raining and they couldn't go outside. It's pretty cute watching a bunch of 3 & 4 year olds play that game for the first time! While the other kids had a bathroom break Andrew helped me get all the snacks ready. It was such a good little helper. The kids sang Happy Birthday to him and they had their snack. I stayed for the rest of the class and watched him play with his new classmates.

Baby Showers

My sister had 2 baby showers last week. One up here in Portland and the other one in Eugene that my mom and I hosted.
Her Portland shower was lots of fun and a ton of her friends came to shower her with love and gifts :)

Her Eugene shower was on Sunday afternoon at her house. My mom went down on Saturday to start getting things set up and my mother in law and I drove down Sunday morning. We got it all set up and then the party began! My sister looked adorable and once again it was a great turn out and she received a lot of great things for baby Leyton.

Only a little over a month and we get to meet baby Leyton....my first niece!

Girls Night Out

Last week was extremely busy. Andrew had his first day of school, I had two baby shower's for my sister (more on that later) and I was a part of a huge event for Bebe Boutique.
I was contacted a month or so ago by a child photographer asking if I'd like to be a vendor at an event she was hosting. She thought that there would only be about 30 people or so. Turns out, over 100 people RSVP'd. I was sewing like a crazy person all last week. Staying up late every night and working whenever Ava was napping.
The event was fun and I got a lot of exposure....but I still have a lot of inventory. So, if you know of anyone with girls....pass my name along!

1st Day of School

Andrew had his first day of school last Tuesday. He was a little hesitant and didn't want me to leave him at school, but when I did he did great. No tears. We had to decorate his bag for school so Daddy decided to take it to his screen printer to have Batman put on his bag. Andrew loves it! He's had 3 days at school now and is enjoying it.

Family get together

The Friday night before last we drove to Springfield for my uncle Gerald's 60th birthday party. It was a little get together with my family at my grandparents house. It was a quick trip down and back, but it was so nice to spend time with my family. I don't get to see my grandparents as much as I'd like to, so it was good to see them even though it was just for a little bit.
Andrew really enjoyed picking tomatoes with my grandpa in his garden and Ava enjoyed walking around their huge yard. Both kids were pretty excited when my cousin's 4 girls came. They all had fun playing and swinging in the backyard.
Our drive home was a little rough. We new Andrew would be fine since he fell asleep on the way down, but we thought for sure Ava would fall asleep on the way home. No such luck! She cried and whined on and off for the whole hour and a half. She finally fell asleep 10 minutes from home....ugh!

16 months

Ava is 16 months old now (as of Wednesday). She is still a sassy, funny, adorable little girl. She doesn't know how to cuddle and completely refuses to. She is obsessed with her blankets and likes to carry them all over the house. She will pose for the camera (see pictures below). She still has the attention span of a fly and is constantly running around and into everything. She LOVES Daddy and is always calling for him. She doesn't eat as much as she used to, but still wants to eat anytime she is in a shopping cart. She also wants to eat if she sees anyone else eating. She already throws herself down in a temper tantrum. She doesn't like getting her diaper changed or her clothes changed. She likes to comb her hair, or put headbands in her hair. She loves her baby doll Janet (it was mine when I was a baby). The gap between her two front teeth is so cute. She got her top right fang tooth in right after she turned 15 months. She can say yes, duck, papa, mama & dada. She will answer yes or no buy shaking her head most of the time. She babbles her little language all the time! She really loves reading books and that is the only thing that will keep her attention for more than a few seconds. Well, that and finding Andrew's toys :) She thinks it's so funny when she is playing with his toy and he doesn't notice! She is such a little cutie and I adore her.

Posing for the camera.

This picture (and the one below) totally crack me up....she went over to the fridge, put her hand on the handle and posed!

Pre3- take 2

Last Tuesday Andrew and I met his teacher and some of his classmates at his new school. He will be taking preschool 3 again this year at Living Savior. His birthday is after the cutoff date, so we knew this would have to happen before he entered the public school system.
Tuesday was a parent kid day at school to get to know your teacher, get familiar with the classroom and meet about half of the kids in his class. It was a fun morning and I think Andrew is going to love his new school. His teacher, Mrs. McCullough is so sweet.
Daddy took Andrew to go get a donut on his way to school while I dropped Ava at my parents and met up with them. After school, Andrew and I had a fun coffee/hot chocolate date at Starbucks. It's rare that I get to do things with just him, so it was really special for me and I think he enjoyed it too.
This is the picture the school took and they will be posting it in the hallway so the kids can look at their family through the year. This is such a typical Andrew look, crossing his arms and giving that face.
His eyes are closed in this picture, but I still think it's adorable!
Having fun with playdoh.
This is where he played for most of the time...in the car area.

Andrew with his teacher and classmates during story time.

He made this puppy during craft time. He named her Sophie :)
