First Haircut

Ava is exactly 2 years, 8 months and 9 days old and she just had her first haircut.  She really has the most beautiful hair with cute little curls.  I was so afraid that if I cut it, the curl would be gone.  Well it was starting to get a little too long so we went in for a little cut this morning.  She was so excited and was the perfect little girl the whole time.
Before the cut we had to take a few pictures.  She was so funny and gave me these super cheesy smiles.
She also insisted on bring her Zoe doll.
She was so excited to sit in the chair and sat still the whole time.  My friend Erin cut her hair and was so sweet with Ava.
The after pictures...just a little trim but I can definitely see the difference.
She loved it and said she looked like Rapunzel.

Erin gave her a sucker for being such a good girl...I think that was her favorite part!  After we left she immediately said she wanted to get her haircut again.  I think she just really likes getting pampered!

Portland Aquarium

Since Daddy was gone all last week we decided to make Sunday a family day.  We headed over to the Portland Aquarium for the morning.  It opened about a month ago and I've been wanting to check it out.  It is very small and doesn't have much but the kids absolutely loved it.  It was such a fun family morning.
Touching the star fish.  (the lighting was horrible!)
Checking out all of the sting rays and sharks.
The kids really wanted to touch them but were a bit nervous too.
I wanted a picture with her...she was clearly not interested.

Basketball update

Basketball season is coming to an end for Andrew.  He only has one game left.  It started out a bit slow for him but he has really improved and he loves it.  He made 4 baskets one game and in this game made 3.  He was pretty excited.  We love going to his games and cheering him on!
Check out those defense skills :)

Road trip

Last Tuesday we made a little road trip down to see my grandparents.  My sister was in town and she needed a ride back to her house, so it worked out perfect.  Kayla and I rode down with the girls in one car while my parents and Andrew rode down in another car.  It was so nice to just hang out with my sis for a bit.

We went right to my grandparents house and the kids were so excited.  They walked in and said "surprise!" and gave them each big hugs.  It was the cutest.  We spent the morning playing with toys, playing the piano and having lots of laughs.
Ava just adored her great grandma and spent all of her time playing with her.  They were so cute together.
I love that my kids can play with toys I used to play with and my mom used to play with.
This picture is blurry but I still love it...it totally captures their love for each other.
The kids found my grandma's walker and thought it was pretty fun to play with!

After lunch we headed back to my sister's so the girls could take a nap.
After nap we tried to get a few pictures.
Isn't my niece such a doll?!  I just adore her!
These 3 have so much fun together!
