The Beach

The Saturday before last we headed to the beach for the day.  It was about 100 degrees here and was supposed to be 90 at the beach which is unheard of!  We left in the morning and got caught in a bit of traffic so we didn't end up arriving until around 11ish.  Luckily we got a great parking spot and walked around Cannon Beach for a bit before having some lunch.
The kids thought it was so fun that we got to have smoothies with our pizza for lunch.
After lunch we headed to the beach.  It was packed!  It looked like a California beach.  There's a little area where the beach separates and the water comes in, kind of like a little river on the beach.  We decided to hang out there since it was shallow.  The kids had a blast!

We put Andrew's swimsuit on and we probably should have put Ava's on her too.  She decided to sit and lay in the water and she got totally soaked!
I love this picture...totally shows my kids personalities....Andrew the thinker and Ava the expressive!

The tide started coming in a bit so Andrew decided to make a Penguin (from Batman) submarine to block the water.
He really didn't want to leave because he wanted to continue building it.  This is it completed.
And sassy little Ava had a blast getting dirty and wet!

We finished off the day with a little ice cream!
This was the best day I've ever had on the beach!  The weather was perfect and it was such a fun family day.  Andrew even asked if we could move to the beach!  We told him that unfortunately it is usually cold and rainy at the beach.
