Ava LOVES Ariel, so we decided to do an Ariel/ Under the Sea birthday party for her. With only a little over a week to plan the party, it was a little crazy, but it ended up so cute! We had a small party with 2 of her little friends and a future baby friend and her grandparents, babysitters and aunt & uncle.
Dinner: Sandwich bar, shell pb&j sticks, mac & cheese muffins, fruit kabobs, crab dip and gold fish crackers.
Dessert: Ariel chocolate cake, pink glitter shell chocolates, oyster cookies, donut holes and octopus marshmallows.
Since 2 of Andrew's best buddies were at the party, we decided to do a treasure hunt for the kids. Nate made a little treasure map for each of the kids and I made these burlap bags for the kids to put their treasures in. The ran around the yard looking for all of their different treasures. The boys treasure hunt was mainly pirate themed and the girls picked treasures of jewelry and mini Ariels. There last treasure was a little treasure box with chocolate gold coins. The kids loved it!
The girls: Emmery, Charleigh and Ava.
Ava really loves this slide.
The boys checking out the treasure maps.
Finding their pearl bracelets.
more jewelry
The boys with their pirate gear.
She loved opening all of her presents and loved all of her Ariel gifts.
Opening her last gift from Buddy Papa & Twyla Pama....
her own princess car!
She loves it!
Our attempt at a family picture, but the lighting is terrible!
She loved when we sang to her and did great at blowing out her candle.
Ava with her best friend Emmery.
I love Ava's face in this picture.
Nate put music from The Little Mermaid on and Ava sat in front of the iPod and listened to it...it was the cutest thing.
She got an Ariel balloon and it somehow came off of her wrist. She was so upset and buried her head in her hands. Poor thing. We tried to wave goodbye to it and make it not a big deal. Andrew told her that the balloon was going to see God.
The only picture I could get of the two of them....they were both exhausted from a really fun birthday party!
