Andrew's 5th birthday party was a Batman/superheroes party. He loves superheroes, especially Batman, but he wanted a few other superheroes too, so we added Spiderman and Superman.
This was the only picture I could get of Andrew with the dessert table. He was too excited to actually take a smile picture for me.
The dessert table consisted of strawberry cupcakes (per the birthday boy's request), Batman cookies, homemade kryptonite (green) suckers, kryptonite swords (chocolate dipped pretzels) and of course birthday cake.
We had homemade chicken nuggets, baked beans, red potato salad, fruit and veggies for dinner.
My little Batman!
Sister wasn't too sure about all of these boys!
Andrew had a lot of ideas this year for his birthday party. He was always coming up with new game ideas. Nate and I narrowed it down to 4 games. The first game was probably the kids favorite. Mr. Freeze froze some of the superheroes and the boys had to use their squirt guns to de-ice the superheroes. The kids loved it and played this game for quite awhile.
The second game was to decorate their own superhero capes. This was a hit and miss game. Andrew wasn't very into it, but some of the other kids were.
The third game was pin the Batman signal as close to the Batman signal on the poster. The kids really liked this game and wanted to play it over and over again.
The girls
The only family picture I could get of the day.
He was a little shy when everyone sang to him.
Ava loved the cupcakes!
All of the kids wanted to help open the presents.
And the last game was the piñata, which was the kids favorite!
For party favors for the boys they had lots of little Batman trinkets. The girls were a little harder, so I made them each a hair accessory and bracelet and got them a star wand and some rings.
These two friends pretending to be superheroes.
As always, I made a slideshow of Andrew from age 4 to 5. Ava loved it and watched it over and over!
Despite me being terribly sick on the day of the party, Andrew had a great time. His friends in attendance were: Carter, Landon, Cole, Lincoln and all of their siblings.
